went back to toronto during the american christmas vacation, and saw Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy with limster (thanks for putting up with me by the way lim)

and so i set out to read all of Le Carre's novels in the Smiley series

below is Smiley played by Gary Oldman in this cinematic version (dashing old gent), and my interpretation of him from the novel...



we also hung about the pretentiously hip starbucks neighbouring the cinema

books are...well the movie was quite a faithful adaptation, so you basically get the movie in text, mostly from smiley's pov, and probably will understand things better
